I have one rig that has 3 cards installed and in FAH I have the clients setup to use 1 and 2 this leaves 0 free for other uses.
This is my setting for my 3rd card. You will have a Client setting for each card and can add and remove them as needed.

Thanks for all the helpful replies and warm welcome to EVGA forums! I'll take my time to explore my options for folding; sorry for bothering y'all with these questions in this thread.

No bother at all and we will take interest/questions wherever.  The reason I suggested opening a new thread in the main forum is because more people read that section and you will likely get more responses.  Also saw your post over in the "Why we Fold" section and it was a thoughtful reminder of something that we see here all the time.  We have people here across a very wide bracket of ages and one thing that is common is that there is no age limit to caring about someone else.

70c isn't bad - Ive have my rigs overclocked and had my cpu's in mid 80's and up to 91c (thermal shutdown)
Id take 70's in a heartbeat - nominal for an overclock

the keplers all stay in the high 50's and  low 60's

since Ive gone complete custom WC loop(was air on gpu's before) all Ive got to say is the CPU affects my gpu temps more than my gpus affect my CPU temps
and nothing goes into 70's - mainly 60 or below - gpu's under 60c - cpu is higher
damn that pump even at low makes more noise than the fans at max(which are silent - do I hear birds chirpin - not thats the whine of the pump which changes speeds every once in awhile)...LOL

Yea do what is comfortable to you... we may be all fanatics so  don't let us talk you into anything
if you need cooling check out CPU coolers even a WC LOOP(if you have room)

OK...i tried to fold using core 17 but project 8900 refused to start...for a whole day it was at 0.0% unknown. Didn't know what to do so went back to regular core 15 and can now do 10k on CPU and 8.5k on GPU which is an improvement over not folding at all...

Funny because even though there was no progress the GPU was still lagging very hard...way slower than core 15 folding to the point of unusability. Weird because the card would plateau at 64° while right now it folds at 69-71°, never higher, never lower.

Some strange sorcery going on here.

Core 17 takes some time to start up, and that amount of time scales inversely with GPU power (i.e. a faster GPU will take less time to get through the startup phase), but it shouldn't take more than maybe 10-15 minutes on a lower-end card, and certainly not hours.  I would say check whether the power slider is on Medium or Full, as Medium doesn't run the GPU when the computer is in use, but if you were seeing significant lag and the temps were that high, that strongly suggests core 17 was running.  Unfortunately there's not much that can be done about the lag other than setting the client to medium; neither of the GPU manufacturers nor any of the OS companies have done much to get GPUs to schedule their time like CPUs do, and core 17 really makes good use of the Kepler architecture.

Lower temps on core 17 vs. core 15 actually isn't unusual.

make sure you leave a cpu thread open for each gpu under core 17
if you don't the gpu will become cpu starved and can hang (the new gpu client core core requires 1 thread per GPU...actually slightly more from my experience)

so for a 3770k leave 1,2 or 4 threads open (1 for single GPU 2 for 2GPUs, 4 for 3 gpu's)

it also takes a while before the new core will update % and update points for the WU

Hello there everyone,

Im a complete noob to folding, just hoping i got everything setup right. I havn't compleated a job yet so i don't think i'll know till i do. I have a i7 2600k overclocked to bout 4.4 with an evga 560ti 2 gig stock overclocked at 900. I don't know if the promotions are still going on but i figured it would be fun to do it with a group if there is anyone active on here:)

*edit, i din't know what chart yall were talkin about. also anysugesstions about lowering the temp on my gpu its running a lil high for my liking and the fan speed is at 100%

Id suggest using the fan at 100%
or find some fans and improve airflow thru case

The chart is the bottom-most link in the first post of this thread.  To be added, you'd follow the second-from-bottom link.  It's not necessary, however.

thank you guys, card is still not as cool as i want it, i am having some issues with the placement due to a wifi pciex1 card getting in the way of where i want to put it. but thats for another forum topic i'm sure. I don't think i'll ever make the teirs, but why not try haha. its sayin i'm only gonna get 22k a day so i dont think there is any way, but thats nbot what its for anyways :) any suggestions on speeding it up or if the crunching is more active let me know. I would at least like to earn some badges someday

ty in advance for ya help
