used to have 6 tiger directs in my area now there is only 1 maybe left

Is TigerDirect going out of business?  I received an email from them stating that all future sales will be Final, no returns will be accepted.  I noticed that their inventory of certain items was really low so that got me to wondering what was up.

ya they are getting slaughtered by newegg and other new tech merchants. Def keep eye out for good deals in future possibly!

Yes, Tiger is going out of business. My friend works (worked, actually) for them, the company was sold to PCM aka PC Mall for 14 million.

I rarely purchased anything from Tiger-Direct but it is sad to see my choices dwindle.

Yes, less choices is never good. 
 
The last time I stepped into one of their stores about 14 months ago, (60 miles or so from me) the inventory was of low quality products at retail prices. 
 
The online search engine was not even 40% as good as Newegg's & they did not have competitive pricing - so I even stopped looking at their site.
 
No real surprise they are closing
 
 

I always thought their online site was poorly done compared to NewEgg with fewer photos and limited specs for the items I was interested in buying.

There was a time I bought quite a bit from Tiger Direct.
