For those of you who listen to me ramble about monitors, this one is on sale this weekend on Newegg.

^not a referral link, just a straight link, but if you're uncertain, search Newegg for the part number from the subject.

Retail is $799.99, but street price is usually in the sub-$600 range. At $450, this is an absolute steal. It lacks >60hz and any form of adaptive sync technology. However, you will not find better picture quality in any other sub-$1,000 non-professional monitor (for those who are ok with non-glossy displays). Playwares and NCX have tested this one, and the results are encouraging - great uniformity, outstanding response time without overshoot ghosting (among the best for IPS, and one of the very few to outperform the advertised number), outstanding color accuracy out of the box, <1 frame input lag (a rarity in today's IPS monitors). LG's warranty is also among the best, 3 years with free two-way shipping and advanced replacement. It's like what ASUS advertises, but unlike ASUS, LG actually follows through.

If you're in the market for a 27" 1440p display, this needs to be at the top of your list. Only avoid this if you:
-need >60hz or the ability to overclock above 60hz
-need adaptive sync (Nvidia G-Sync, AMD FreeSync)
-want a monitor cheaper than $450 (QNIX at $200-$300, Monoprice when under $300, anything else, spring for the $450)

Unlike the imports and Monoprice options, this isn't an off-grade panel. NCX rated this his #1 gaming monitor in picture quality, and #2 as a gaming monitor in general in its category.
