I would take a reference model any day over the clocked up one.

I don't even think on reference clock cards.
Special wit so huge distance between overclocked and reference model.
Difference between KPE and Matrix Platinum is big, what to say than for reference, not only KPE.
GIGABYTE GHz Edition, Galaxy HOF V20, Inno3D iChill GTX 780 Ti DHS HerculeZ X3 Ultra,
K|NGP|N Classified give insane difference from reference version.
That's probably something similar as GTX970 vs GTX980.
OC on 1200-1250MHz and wait what will happen and gaming + warranty on same clock example is not same.
I mean when someone build 2-3 way SLI than and reference/superclocked model is enough.
But for one card 20% faster than strongest chip mean lot.
I always cursed ASUS because their clocks are much lower than other others non reference models.

It's good option if you can with little luck to flash with BIOS of other, overclocked model.
For 399$ even reference model is good but I love fabric overlocked.
It's bad because in Europe no such options.
GTX780Ti with reference speed and Classified cooler, that would be nice temps and silence.
That cooler is better than on KP Edition for about 25% from noise side.
Performance are probably similar.

why did they make 2 different classified versions for the 780ti?

They made 2 versions, because the classified was awesome, but K|ngp|n wanted to set records, so you have the Ti Classified and the Ti Classified K|ngp|n. I know you were not referring to the K|ngp|n card (careful vlada is getting ready to tell us how amazing it is :-P lol) when you said two versions.

They made one version, and it was meant to run at specific speeds under stock voltage conditions. If it didn't meet the requirements, it was put aside.. So, they relabeled it (they did not make a different version) the reference edition (meaning reference clocks).

So, when you look, the Ti Classified Reference and Ti Classified K|ngp|n Reference edition are both byeproducts of their true selves, they just couldn't run at the required clocks :-D

Pretty big savings on a high watt PSU. Definately a good buy.

Such PSU in Serbia cost 280e example.
Same PSU as EVGA SuperNOVA only SF cost 250-260e.
Same platform as EVGA 1200P2 cost 270e and now cables and nothing.
Because of that people import Supernova from Germany and Hungary.
I saw and Seasonic launch some new Platinum units but looks like EVGA Platinum is scored little better.
In USA people had different options, it would be excellent someone to throw us over Ocean without taxes and fees.
In Serbia ASUS R9-295X still cost 1670e. Not ARES III, reference. I don't care but that's not fair from AMD side because they try to sell and Serbian shops will back that cards because nobody will buy for such price when people import from Germany two for same money.
I would be completely mad and angry if that happen to some model I need. I would call NVIDIA, and complain how someone want to destroy their selling and don't care for customers. Because if they sell for 1650e one card 3 months after AMD approve half price, that mean they put in own pocket 800e.

Newegg got more superclocked 970's in stock for $350:

It also comes with a free (good) game voucher. You get to choose from Assassin's Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, or The Crew. These are worth a whopping $60 each if you had planned on getting them separately.
