6ghz or above is cherry chip.  I'd settle for a 5.8g chip though, as it would do the job and I could make up for it on the GPU side.

I Don't Suppose You have ever tested the Limits of these Chips on anything but LN2, Right?

I was able to do 5.2 ghz on chilled water
About 4.5 to 4.8 on air. (Asus Sabertooth Board. My 3 Rampage boards had problems doing this)
That was with a 3930k and and 4930k.

I'll Have to See What This Asus Does on Air Once I Stop Looking at it!

Of course, that's the first thing I do.  If you find a 5g on air, that could be a cherry chip.  No way to know except putting it under cold.  But air/water testing is crucial.  I run on ambient water cooling normally.

Both those 5.5ghz chips do max 4.85g under regular water cooling.

Hey Q... how hot are those Vregs on the Dark?  I am sure the frost from your pot keeps them cool.

Nate,

I noticed they were a little warm under water cooling @ 1.5v on the cpu.  No bad though.  A small fan took care of it entirely.

And yeah I don't worry about any board cooling when using LN2.  In fact, I stuff shop towels most everywhere, including completely covering the  vreg heatsink.

So Far Managed to Assemble/Start up the RIV BE/4930K and Now Installing Win 7.
I have to use an Old EVGA GTX 480 for right now since My 780 Classys are already Boxed up for Sale, and I won't get the First Pair of KPE's until probably Late Wenesday.
