If we keep this up, we might get Nate and some of the others to dust off their benching rigs, keep it on ambient, save some dough that way, and still have some fun clocking.

Yeah, I Know I have a LOT of OC'ing Work/Techniques to catch up on after all this time being "Out of the Game", But as you see, I'm Still using some "Outdated" Hardware (Possibly Except for the 780 Classy's), so it's going to take me a while to figure out all these New Products before I Jump back in and spend WAAYYYYY too much $$$$ to build another New Rig Again! 
 
Actually, It Looks like My Old i7 980 / X58 is where I'm Losing Out from the Newer X79 / LGA2011 Systems, But I'm Still Glad to be Back Again and having some Fun!

Glad to see your still around though! And it has been a while. also...not really the board holding you back as much as say the vbios. If that is the factory vbios...chances are you could start there and gain a major lot just on that alone...but im not sure...im suppose to go bench some 780s at my microcenter so we shall see just what i think i know. lol

JOHNKSSS, welcome back to the convo!  I too was wondering if you were around.  Nate's here but not benching.... Nate, reorganize the garage, so you have your benching rig near you mill, like maybe across a walkway from it so you can just roll back and forth on your stool/chair and bench while milling.  Wonder what other vets are lurking?  Q56 you around?  Any other vets want to join the party?

Well Dave, I Don't Really Think I can Push this i7-980 Much More than 4.738GHz on just Ambient Water Cooling.
As a Matter of Fact, I Couldn't Push My 2012 i7-980X past 4.818GHz on 0 degrees (32F) CHILLED Water Cooling! LoL!!
