Yes.  I have brought shame to the thread, but I need a daily use computer, and you need a dedicated computer for a CNC machine.  No one around here has one cheap enough, and since I spend like $400 for that 759 X58 board... I might as well start using it!?  Its been in the closet for WELL over a year.

E759 in the closet, FOR SHAME!
But I agree, need something daily use.... but you can clock it for daily use still, just not as much.....

i haven't had a SINGLE problem with a stock clocked component.  Not that I haven't had my fair share of suicide runs either.  I know the 759 board I have is a tested warrior.  As for the 950, I haven't put it through its paces.  The only reason why I won't go crazy (water cooling/overclocking) with this board is because I take it to my buddies house once or twice a month for lan games.  (which we used to do much more before wife/kids mortgages etc) Just a hassle lugging a 50lbs water cooled monster around.

In any case, nice to know I still can do it if and when i want too though ;)

Last night I hooked up the 759 board with the 950 chip and was overjoyed it worked!  It was nice flipping through the once familiar bios.  Brought back memories.  Couldn't remember how to get rid of that Jmicron check at the beginning, but it was actually painless to swap over from the X58 Micro, to the 759.  Took about 10 min or so for the board to auto-update everything.

Perhaps it will ask you to play.

Went ahead and put the Q6600 on water, now idling at 25*C. Not bad, it's with an EK Supreme HF, 2x DDC, 250mm res, and a Thermochill 120.3.

Booted up and was rolling at 3.6GHz in 10 minutes. Sadly though that seems to be the limit of this board as it only has a 4pin CPU plug. Even 3.65GHz failed, it just wouldn't boot. D:
