So I've been playing with MSI 680 lightning and a classified 680.
Something happened with 3D maek 11. Scores went way down, all settings the same.
Did a clean driver install and 3D mark 11 install. I get very similar results with either card. It's like 3D 11 is trying to run the graphics tests at a constant fps no peaks no valleys. What happened? All settings the same.

The same is not true for vantage

A directx thing? re installed that also.

what ive noticed is with certain benchmarking programs (like OCscanner) the pixel clock limit imposed by the new drivers is responsible for lower scores as it prevents higher framerates. using toastyX's pixel clock unlocker, i went from 70 fps in OCscanner, to 1384 fps..... so apparently nvidia's own software is causing this. i still love toasty for the fix!! :D

So why does this happen with one monitor and not another? Is there a fix?

there is, go to 120hz . net and look for toastyX's pixel clock unlocker, i have it installed, works perfectly :) it should make that problem go away.

also i should add, the reason why this would happen to one monitor and not the other (assuming they are on the same setup) is that the pixel clock limit is on the dvi's. so if your using hdmi/dvi setup, the dvi side will be pixel clock locked. there is more to it than that, of which i dont know much about, but thats the basics from what ive read. use the unlocker and everything should be fine.

Single monitor set up. Found 3Dmark11 not performing correctly. Connected different monitor all works as it should. Very consistent on which monitor works correctly and which does not.
Going to give toast x a try. Thanks.

OK so I have a second 680 classified on the way from the egg (hopefully with the evbot socket on it, the last one i bought 1 month ago did), I was wondering, i plan to make a chiller (in process of doing so) and subzero cooling these, is it a good idea to fill the pci-E sockets with vasaline as well as insulating around the pci-e socket? im just wondering if the extreme cold would start condensation buildup on the mobo.

Not sure if John will see this but I was curious if this is worth buying to build a SS or dual stage with.

If I was to get it I'd be using a kayl evap and a 2-4ft lineset. Would be shooting for -45C 250W load SS, or -90-100C 250W load 2stage.

Yeah, load 'er up.  in the socket as well as around.  If you don't mind a mess, just use pj for everything.  Chillers migrate cold a lot worse than even LN2, so be sure to do the top and back of your mobo.

So what is better for chilled water below freezing, antifreeze, windshield washer fluid, or something else?
