No easy way to insulate?  Would I steer you wrong ;) ?  The 295 hamburger blocks are harder to insulate then these (plus I can change the outside to suit your needs remember?)

If I had to guess, there may be more copper mass then some CPU pots.  It should be very easy to insulate, and also was designed for use on chillers, as in all the connections go down from the top, instead of sideways.   Generating some hand drawn tool paths now.

It will start off as 10 lbs of copper.  26 square inches of surface area on the bottom plane of the water chamber.  13.19 cubic inches of liquid in there, roughly 0.2 liters of water in there, which calculates to about 0.8 cups of water!  That will certainly keep some cold mass for those chiller folks ;)  You could probably pour LN2 straight into that sucker with a funnel btw...  That much mass will perform quite well.

If there is no cold bug, you could just literally keep 0.8 cups of LN2 in there.

In fact....I could cut you some of that foam i sent you on the CNC that would be the absolute PERFECT layout between the block, and the card. You would lay the foam inbetween the block, and the card, and it will be a nice perfect fit.  Then you envelop the card in the other foam.  Actually sounds like a fun project.

The block makes contact with every conceivable part that generates heat.

The tool paths I am in the middle of:

Now that does sound interesting. I got a line on all the foam i need now. One of my clients who do nothing but insulation..lol

When you get to that point, take a few pictures and let me see.

Once i finish these toolpaths (they take forever manually) then I will start the prototype.

In the meantime, i posted a youtube video on the voodoo thread.

Very neat, makes me want a CNC.

Then build one! Duh?
I got 1 built, and have another 2 in the works. One similar to the one i have, and the other is a borderline real deal tormach (for those who know that brand)

ugh, manual tool paths.  This is why they invented CAM programs.

quick question for nate, when compairing the heat disapation of aluminum and copper, what percentage is aluminum to copper.
say if copper is 100% what would that make alloy?

also how much aluminum mass would i need to run Dry Ice on anything from an 8800GTX to a 470GTX

so im designing a GPU dice pot. not sure how it will work or how i ill make it but it should look pree good when im done. will be making a aluminium pot for a prototype and if it works ill send the design to nate for a copper version :P
