HALLOWEN'S NEW OVERCLOCKING CPU HAS BEEN FOUND!

After a Breif Cram Session of Reading/Researching for My Next KILLER CPU at a Reasonable Price, I Think I have Found It (And Bought It!)

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Is that a 980X ES?

Looks sweet!

Thanks Halo,

No, It is Not a 3.33 GHz Box 980X CPU (which All have a B1 Stepping with a 25X Unlocked Multiplier), It is an Intel Confidential 3.076GHz Q3QP ES (which has an A0 Stepping with a 24X Unlocked Multiplier) that I bought at a Very Reasonable Price (Compared to the 980X Box CPU's) on Ebay.

I have seen/read about Very Promising Overclocking Results using These A0 Stepping ES CPU's, But We'll find out how it works with My EVGA X58 SLI Classified on Air First, Then Chilled Water, and Ultimately back on Phase Change Cooling.

In the beginning, I'm going to Start out by using just One Stock Air Cooled EVGA GTX295 and 6GB of Corsair TR3X6G1866GTF G Elpida Hyper IC Memory, and Then if everything Looks Good,  I'll start looking for Graphics Card Upgrades.

Very interesting, I keep wanting to go for one of the 2.4Ghz ES's, but I keep convincing myself to save up for my pots from KP.

Looks like an excellent plan though. Do you only have one 295? I was thinking you had sold them both.

I Sold My Two Water Cooled GTX295's Last Year, But I've still kept One Stock GTX295 to use on my 759 Classified (Even then I had to send it back for an RMA Twice in the past two Years, LOL!).

That's What I Hate about Multiple Graphic Card setups, There's ALWAYS One that eventually goes out (At Least on My Systems ), and Now I'm Looking at purchasing 3 or 4 GTX580's that I'll probably have to take apart and install Water Blocks if the EVGA Hydro Copper Models aren't available and at a comparable price tag.

Need a block for that 295? I have an extra Koolance just sitting here.

Edit: assuming it's a Dual PCB that you have.

Thanks Halo,

I do Appreciate the Offer, But as I mentioned before, It Looks to Me like only ONE GTX580 Hydro Copper will more than likely Equal BOTH of My Old Dual PCB GTX295's with the AquagraFX Water Blocks as far as Graphics Card Performance and 3DMark Vantage Scores, and Also the Undeniable Fact that I can't run 3DMark 11 with the GTX295's (Directx 10 Only!)

Looks like I'll be selling My remaining Dual PCB GTX295 and Finding/Purchasing an Air Cooled GTX580 + Water Block or an EGVA Hydro Copper GTX580 that is Probably going to Cost Me More than the Hexa Core ES CPU I just Bought!

Ouch. I know what you mean though. My first run with the 580 and it was all stock and I was already pushing 29k without GPU Physx. It's just crazy.
