they can fix it...but if i were you...i would take my computer over there so they can make sure it's properly charged for your application. have them add a high and a low side valve if it isnt already on there. then you can play with it from there. buy a cheap vacuum pump and some ac gauges and your partially set..

This guy prefers to work out of his van.   He said he has a shop, but prefers to make house calls.    That fact kind of scares me.  I know that sometimes those types of people can be pure genius, but sometimes they are hacks.

that's better for you.
setup shop in the garage
have everything ready to go.
watch him closely...you might learn something. ask lots of questions.(meaningful ones not off the wall - lol)
have the laptop up on phase change stuff so he knows exactly what your after. dont assume he does. 98 percent f them have no clue how OUR phase change is really suppose to work. its just facts. he might try weighing out the charge and that might not even be close to right.

let the system start to frost over, then shut it down and either get a hair dryer or heat gun and face it to the evap and see what happens. then you can put it on the board and test away. since im pretty sure you dont have a load tester.

nateman_doo,
You would not by chance have a brand name or custom full board block for a 790i laying around collecting dust? One you might want to get rid of?

A longshot I had to try.

Sorry, I was away all last week.  I am back now.

I made some crazy stuff for my 790 - individual blocks, nothing like a full board block.  Was too cheap to buy one, so I started making them.  Here I am today :)
