That's a start.  I'm still working on 3dm03.

Now I am kicking myself for getting rid of all those cheap video cards.   I still have the 6600 and 7600GT, but I got rid of the 8400GS, GT 240, and 9600GSO.

Cheap video cards: I am coming back for you?

So...

I can't touch the guy in 1st on 3dm03 with the 9400GT.  It's odd because my configuration is way faster than his.

So this is my question:
I am running 3dmark03 in XP.  Good, right? (compared to Win 7)  I am using 4 cores / 4 threads (hyperthreading disabled).  I don't know what 3dm03 likes.  Should I drop to 2 cores / 2 threads for more speed, or keep pushing it at 4 cores / 4 threads?

you are probably missing a few tweaks in there.

Like?

So, how many threads does 3dmark03 use?

I am wondering why I am running my 965 EE at 4.5GHz on SS when I can run my 2600K at 4.9GHz on water.

EDIT:  It seems that increasing the number of pre-rendered frames helps.

I'd love to see a worklog and or guide to make your own :)

I should at least do that with the one I have, this way there is a basis for comparison between how much better the new one will be.

Well it seems I killed another 2600K. But this one at least still runs up to 4.7Ghz.
Yeah that one. Though I never could get it to boot above 5.6Ghz. 5.9 must have been a 1 time deal, CPU was brand spanking new then.
But I have another. Don't know how it clocks yet.

90c then bsod and then would not do anything over 4.7Ghz. was at 5.6 when it puked.
