what kind of fittings you got?

He wants fins in the first place guessing he still wants it to look cool. Halo's pc is more of a sharp looking gamer rig than a benchmarking rig. ram block is a plus to keep noise down vs more fans.
Doubt he's tearing down as much as you and I John
Plus is the block is cheap around $43, if I had doms and still cared about how my rig looked id get one

yeah, i dont have a rig only benching stations. so in his case...for looks...go for it. of course ....there is nothing wrong with it.

Just got rid of all my 1/2ID 3/4OD fittings. Most the rest are my 3/8 fittings and SLI connectors which I am keeping. Dumping the 1/2 fittings I will never use again made me feel better tho.
(I am keeping enough to convert back to Tygon incase this Copper tubing setup is pure fail)
I can tell ya on that Dom block, I put a pair of 3mm UV Led's in it, then connected them to my heatbeat connector, I think thats gonna look pretty good w/ the fluid I use.

A ram water block is truly foolish.  If you aren't able to get good airflow over the ram then just get one of those ram fans or make your own.

Nah, depends on the block.  i would make one that touches the chips directly and deep six the factory metal.  No better way then starting from scratch.

There are already blocks that do that nate, MIPS make them.  You get no real gain from a ram block except added pressure drop in your loop and more plumbing to deal with and pay for.

So cool ram benefits no one?

Realistically? No, not really.  If you want to go balls out on ram clocks you could get a dice/ln2 pot.  But its not like watercooling the ram is going to make it work any faster than a solid air cooled setup.

Is it any special type of carpet or what? How much difference you think in the next room hearing the PC. Thats a BIG problem I am having right now. Guess it's a good thing I'm not married anymore, a G/F can #$*&@#( all she wants, but can't really do jack bout it. Wife on the other hand.... well..... you turn the volume down.....

It's called studio carpet but just looks like car or marine carpet to me, It has got an underlay as well , The blocking of noise to the rest of the house works ok but didn't stop the base but it toned down the mid and highs a bit ,The wife goes off her nut about the base ( It dose not help when i have a 15 inch 1000 watt sub bolted to the floor lmao) I like to feel the gun shots hit me and the explosions rattle the house lol....The base is that bad it cracked the window twice !!! And my wife's stuff falls of the shelves then i'm in big trouble I end up deaf in one ear from her yelling at me lol...
