I have a DT 301 which is the single probe version of that thermometer. I would highly recommend it.  But if you can find a Fluke on ebay for cheap I would say absolutely get the Fluke over the DT 30X

Not a bad unit you found there John.  I haven't used it, but its looks like essentially 2 of mine, and the same price as 2.  If you got the $200 for it (and plan to eventually occupy the 4 probes at once) then then hell yea!

yes, that's what i was thinking myself...:)

i just dont want to NOT have enough probes and have to run out and buy another one later, but im still thinking on it.

Lots of people claim issue with the battery life on the DT301 but I have never had an issue with it :/

i dont think battery life would be a serious problem for me either.

what's your take on the old style fluke 52 k/j models?
are they -200C rated?

I havent seen or heard to much about them.  When i was doing my thermometer search everyone talked about the 52 II.

hummm, i only ask because i seen a few of those and can get them pretty cheap. 2 of those for the price of one uei. that would cover quad probes.....but now if it's only -50C...all bad....

John about what would you say your 295 took to run 800 core/linked/1270? I just pulled it with 1200mV. Dunno if that'd good or not.
