I am still around, just hiding in other sections.  I posted about a month back about picking up a phase cooler.  That has been quite the debacle.  It showed up beat to hell and I spent almost a month getting money out of fedex from an insurance claim.  It just yesterday got dropped off at the original builder to be repaired.

ok, i already talked with Q56 about thermometer's and now im going to ask some here...which ones are you guys using (if any) and why. and can a -50C be made to work like a -200C one. and if any one might be selling a dual input as well. thanks.

i use it and like it, dual inputs and was comparatively cheap compared to other brands/models - but no data-logging

This is the one me and Nate use, and it comes with two K-type probes that measure down to -200*C: http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/AMPROBE-Digital-Thermometer-4FKP6?Pid=search Amprobe TMD-10. Really solid.

ok, i looked at that one as well. along with the extech. i have one now, but i think it is only -50 and will potentially read about -70 accurate.(big maybe)
these are some im thinking about.
has 4 inputs  / data logging
http://www.aikencolon.com/uei-dt304-digital-temperature-logger.html

has dual inputs  / data logging
http://www.aikencolon.com/uei-dt302-apollo-temperature-logger.html

has dual input plus constant power and battery power / data logging
http://www.mitchellinstrument.com/industrial-thermometer-dua-input-type-k-datalogger.html
plus a few extech in the dual inputs.
some china made ones that you can get for dirt cheap.. probably means something as well.

Ya, Grainger's site is stupid. Just search AMPROBE TMD-10.

Why do you want data logging though? It doesn't seem like that big of a deal?

Or you could do what TiN did to his Fluke 51 II: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=260231  He turned it into a 54 II.

dont really need the data logging. just throwing that in for the people who do...

looked at that thread. they are already taking a 200+ dollar unit they bought, then modded it for dual inputs. when i can just buy a 4 input with no mod and no hassle and works like a champ. all for 185.00 shipped..

ah, that was one of my other choices, but that model..did it have the back light?? i checked out a few..even the wireless one..haha..about 135 bucks

edit:
fluke 51 II going for 90.00 to 245.00 bucks
