Anyone here doing forums wars or has anyone done one in the past? Just got a pm about it today

Vokl PM'd you i assume? I have been in coversation with him about filling up a team. I have wanted to do it in the past, but never had enough people for teams. Vokl is a 411 guy, and we have been talking about combining benching people from 411 and EVGA to have enough for a full fledged team. He said he PM'd multiple other people about it. I think it is a great idea if we can get a full team.

Basically if we want to fill a whole team, we need 3 people per class. There are 7 classes, so 21 people, but people can bench multiple rigs so really, less than that. Like for example, i could bench my i7 920+gtx480 in class E, and bench a q6600+gtx260 in class G.

Well I doubt we have enough people from evga only to fill 21 spots. I only skimmed through the email link do we have to have orb for 3Dmark, and the 3D benches are 06-vantage right? I might be willing to join if we could somehow find the people.
Would a 655k and 260 gtx be class G with DICE?

Remember 411 has a number of people too. If a few people ran two rigs, i think we could fill 21 spots. And anyways, we could at least filll some of the 3 man teams. Having every class filled would be for going for overall win, but if you win your class you still get prizes.
 
A 655k+gtx260 on dice would be 4(threads)+1(gpu core)+3(dice handicap) = 8. that setup would be class E.

So I'd be D-class then running an i7 930(8threads)+ a GTX 295 both on water? That'd add up to 11 if I'm correct.

You can run any combo of hardware you want, you just have to figure out what class. And if you want to run a second rig, it has to be different hardware than the first rig. I actually think this is the first year that they have used the point handicap for class restrictions. Before iirc, it was similar (# of cpu threads, gpus, cooling), but not as specific.
 
i7+295+water: 8+2+1 = 11. Yep you are correct.
 
You could run your 8800gt, but it would be in place of the 295. Or you could run it in a second rig.
