Nice Nate...I know you've tackled a lot of different projects, but is that your most challenging project to date?

Actually now that I think of it- Building the CNC mill was the EASY part.  Learning how to operate CNC is what I am dreading.

I was one of the 75 who got one free from EVGA.

ok halo...just what in the hell is that thing and just what is it suppose to do?
what board is it meant for and why?
and all the people over there complaining about paying 20 bucks..seems like the same bunch who complained about buying futuremark products as well..lol..(speculation of course)
and why does someone need it?

The 24 pin melting on some X58 boards with highly overclocked GPU's (400 series and above 5870 and above ) drawing to much power from the pcie slot. Cause those cards when overclocked and overvolted exceed specs of the time MB was built/designed, or least that is the drift I put together, also killing psu's. All speculation of course.

This, except it is possible at stock with multiple cards.

Also the 4890 can cause it.

Man, with as much voltage and pci-e juice I was using on my sli 480's, my board should have melted away....

I don't believe it...a bunch of hogwash.

yeah, im thinking the same thing. (we put major watts and volts to the test) look at all the top bencher's as well...i haven't heard of them burning up this 24 pin adapter with like 100 percent more everything than  normal user. or are they under some nda rules or something and can't disclose that? lmao!

edit:
so after digging up a bunch of info on this problem that i never even knew exisited...i have to ask this....
are people using 24 pin + BOTH 8 pin connectors to the motherboard? i can't seem to find anyone stating that they are. with these burned up pins. or am i reaching on this? because some were saying with cpu draw..it was also causing it..but if you use both connectors...that's 600 watts to the cpu and less pull on the 24 pin connector.leaving more room for the cards.(speculations).(from what i gather i guess)
