ok i have a question for either john or Q,
would overclocking memory past its rated specs put more stress on the VTT?
so would my ram kingston 1600CL8 @1755CL9 use more VTT than
say corsair 2000@ 1750 CL9?
I don't think so. That would be more of what kind of dimm voltage you need to keep the kingston stable (1.65 might be enough for a 10% ram OC).
Everything is related because everything runs off the bclock, but VTT is voltage for uncore, of which the integrated memory controller is the biggest part. To get a stable uncore you might need some additional VTT, but uncore frequency is based on your bclock x uncore multiplier. And you want your uncore freq. to be 2x your ram, so in your case 1750x2=3500, regardless of the dimms you have installed.
