xp would probably work the best, although win 98 might not be too bad.

sad day for me cant get my ram to work at its 2000mhz, should I just settle for 1866 cl7 or should I return until I get a set that will do 2000 cl8, but it may not be the ram, maybe my board just doesn't like the sticks

Usually it's better to run with your ram as high as it can go. When around 2000mhz I run 8-8-8-22-88 or if you can pull off 7-8-7-22

I got the wprime1024 WR for q9300. 3 WR's down, 3 to go(cpuz, sp1m, and sp32m). But grr, superpi 1m and 32m are still terrible effeciency...I'll probably use xp to try and get those wr's. And i can't get 4ghz valid; it always freezes.

Well yesterday I finally updated my x58 bios to the latest version, started at 181 bclck and worked my way to 210 Vantage stable what a pain. My 920 is really picky with voltage at bclck 200 it wanted VTT of +400 ram was 2000mhz now at 210 it will take VTT of +250. At this point I needed to turn down the CPU PLL 1.45. I would like to hit bclck of 220 before trying DICE again but seems I'll have to bump up by 2 each time to get there. I got 920 hate

I have the Super Talent Chrome series 2000mhz cl8 stuff, and I finally got into windows on air at 4.2 ghz with the ram running at full speed, it took a vtt of +350 though, I hope I can get that down when i go dice

any guesses how long before a blue screen, core temps at idle 45c

Ohhhh keep me posted, if these prove to bench better than the normal full OS's I got might be making 2 new partitons on my drive . Also which version of W7 are you using for vantage 64-bit or 32-bit?
