@threedhero: nice frosty pics, now we want results. Why not insulate the top part though? I would be afraid of some of the frost melting and dripping on the board.

This pic was during the break down of my x58 920 session, everything was wrapped and taped up during benching.

Here's one for the crew!

Nice on the Dice!  Lucky dog...I so can not wait to do that!

Yeah Q it was a lot of fun glad I only got 10lbs since it was my first time didn't know what to expect.

Hopefully I'll have some good results for bot on my next run.

Finally have some time to work on my oc for my 920. (though it is storming like crazy, so i gotta be careful...) Booted and running 4.2. Still need to test it bench stable though. Gonna try and get 4.4 bench stable then throw in my friends cards i mentioned a few days ago.

Vantage cpu tests are the most stressful of any 3dmark, right? So if i am stable in vantage, i should be stable in all the others?

EDIT: fack, 4.2 froze in vantage. What does it usually relate to when it freezes but no bsod?

I find either Vtt, IOH or Vcore..... what have you got these set at?

also watch your temps ....if your on air (which i think you are) uping VTT will bump temp up.......

and when you say it froze in vantage, which test GPU or CPU??

vcore: 1.3625
vtt: 1.45 (+250)
ioh vcore: 1.05
20(+1)x200 = 4.2ghz
and i have HT on.
Just from looking at these again, i would assume it might be my ioh, as i still have it stock. What's a max value i should push the ioh on air?

Ya i'm on air. I have been watching temps, but when running vantage i can't cause i only have 1 monitor. Is there a way to put vantage in a window? As for it freezing, I was only running the cpu tests. It froze in the middle of cpu test 1.

To anyone: how does HT on off affect 3d benches? AKA, is HT on or off better for 3d?

Sometimes in vantage while you have your cards OC'd it can make your cpu test unstable. Try the cpu test with cards at stock if it passes. Use precision to create profiles and switch the card back to stock before the cpu tests. If the card OC'd passes with the cpu test then you'll need to tweak the cpu volts more.

Yeah you could go up on all vcore vtt and ioh remember though your are overclocking to run vantage not run 24/7 so a bit higher is OK
Try this
vcore: 1.4(lower end)
vtt: (+300)
ioh vcore: 1.2 (lowe end)

as far as looking at temps while runing vanatge i tend to watch my LED debug display it will show a temp reading and yes i no this is not what the cores are but it gives you an idea of were it is at......and a base line ......remember in most cases if the system gets to hot it WILL shut down (not lock up)

and as threadhero suggested setting a lower overclock that you can use hot keys to drop the overclock for cpu run can help a lot.....

in all reality...vantage doesn't need that much vtt...

hmm maybe not...... but if it is'nt working you need to start looking at other areas...... like we always say every setup is different that high vtt isn't a problem with the 920 so its worth a crack as long as the temp is monitored... but you need to try everything and rule it out within your own system
