not sure what i am missing but I cannot seem to get any advantage on any of my chips with ht off, the first two I thought maybe it was just the chip but with my third chip its clear im doing something wrong. What is the theory behind no ht? Less vcore to get to the same place? Or does it just give you a better chance of booting into windows?

  I would take your highest OC settings that worked, turn HT off drop v-core and vtt , and maybe qpi pll.
As I recall for the i7 stability club when turning HT off I had to dramatically reduce voltages on more than one setting to run stable. post 263

Ok, a family friend just dropped off some pc's to repair because he is getting out of the custom building and doesn't really have time to fix them. I now have access to a BFG gtx295 (dual pcb), a BFG 8800gtx, and what looks like an 8600gt.
 
Should i bench them? I don't want to f the cards up, but it is so tempting.
