I have one project that absolutely no one knows about, but It didn't work out as i had hoped, so I never really looked too much into it.  I may just post it in hopes that others can take off where I have failed.

Hey guys I've made the changes to my bios temp you guys suggested and my temps have gone way down which is great! Thanks again for that, so I'm able to run most every 3D bench without a problem . I'm at a blck of 210 so far and cpu temps are great. However when trying to run with a blck of 212 I mostly get lockups not BSODs. I've tried ram timings at stock setting with no luck a few bumps in different volts, nothing... This is my temp so far...

Mother Board ( EVGA X58 Sli  E758-A )

I've had the IOH to 1.3 and the IOH/ICH to 1.5 and still get the same lockups. Am I missing anything that could be holding me back to reach 212 blck or higher?

I wish hoping to try some DICE runs but after all the CPU problems I'm having would it be a waste of money to invest in a pot and mats?

I will have to disagree with you...  I submerged a board in denatured alcohol, and it didn't do a thing for the Vaseline.  Just stunk up my basement and made the plasti-dip easier to get off.

threed, try 8 8 8 24 2T, and up the ram  voltage to 1.7.  if no more crashes, it was your ram that was the problem.   Then try to get your tighter timings back.

Works fine for me completely removed the Vaseline from a 780 and 790 board which I also had to RMA without issue. I put it in a spray bottle and only removed the residue left after using a blow dryer.

1.7 Vcore huh well I'll give it a try and let you know.

I have one of those too but she lives in Illinois..

I say post it, depending on the cost I'd be willing to try it.
