  Was running a really good vantage and heard 2 POPS and smell that dreaded electrical burn smell. Quickly power off. inspect every thing.
couldn't isolate. Smell is in room but no components looked bad or smelled.
  Pulled video cards they looked fine. put the good over clocker back in works great. Put the other one in. all jittery and weird.
 Conclusion one of my 480's POPPED.

That sucks awalleye. Hopefully you can get your RMA quickly and get back to benching both cards.

I guess your the first that we know of to RMA a 400 series card.  Sorry to hear that.

and later found out the serial number didn't match.

i grabbed a 470 last night and it has a big ass note stating...make sure both serial numbers match...

scratching head on how that guy missed that.
