Hey guys!, 4.6 Turbo on HT off
getting Idle of about 40-42range and Load of about 82-85 after 20 passes of linx, is that dangerous? it hasn't went passed 65-70 in gaming, L4D2, BC2, WoW, MW2, Metro 2033.

With those numbers you're Taco Bell guy. Good to Go!

is HT even worth having on? i dont do any encoding, purely gaming.

With Windows 7, every program is Affinity set for all threads/cores. Many newer games do benefit somewhat but most run just fine with just the 4 cores.

what type of difference would you speculate roughly? between 4.6 HT ON/OFF? i know thats a longshot question, but i figured you guys are pretty experienced.
cause i may infact try to get HT on stable. have to add .3-.5 more to vcore though

Thanks for this post, definately nice to see this question answered. I guess it comes down to what is your best OC, if you can get 100-200 mhz more from HT OFF then probably better to go for max OC, but if you can get same OC max speed then best to have it on if you can handle temps.

thats what im thinking, i dont see a reason to even have it on regardless, HT from what i've heard adds around 8-10c to most OC's over 4.0ghz

so i have spent the last few hours preping a dead board (i knew it was dead this is for practice)
this is all done with Blu-Tack not the art eraser as i cant buy it in my town.
"Elmer's Tack." as the US call it (dont blame me if its worong i found it on wiki LOL

here is the photos of it :)

this is what i started with

started to fill the socket brace

closed it to make sure it fit

then opend it up again and PACKED it

closed it and filled the gaps

filled up the around the socket

did the back of the board and installed the back bracket for the corsair H50

installed the top bracket

mocked the H50 in and put the rad into a dish (this will be full of ice waterand prolly a bigger dish)

this is what im goin to use when i get a diff board... one that works

what do you think??

looking very good!!

im going to give you guys the easy route.

get a rolling pin
roll out a nice big square
then set it on the board and press down where the caps and brackets are.
take off and then cutout the imprints
set back in place and trim where needed.
set back in place.
make another rolled out layer which is ultra thin.
this one is for the top of the cpu and bracket.
press hard so you get the imprint of the cpu..then cut the center out and place back ontop.
