beating the current gtx260m leader in cpu score 400 points behind in gpu score


Edit: well we are calling it quits with this, no gold and between the non reference gtx 260 with no driver updates and tempermental throttleing on the cpu it was good enough for silver, will have to check to see if i can find any updated drivers from asus for this to see if I can push it higher

also try changing your system settings to see if it gives a bit more.

so leader john.... due to lack of cash at this time and a need to Get it Colder what would you do if you were in my shoes

i currently have:
1 evga x58 micro
1 voltage whore 920 DO cooled my a megahealems
1 HIS 5870 max 1050/1300
1 GTX 285 max 720/1596/1296
and 1-2 GTS 250s (depends if room mate is home :)
6gb kingston ram (gets to about 1640 mhz

and its all on air

what do you think i could get to GET IT COLDER for maybe $200 ($185 USD)

im thinking about water cooling my 5870 and making a dice pot for the cpu, but like i said money is tight

when money is tight...
for 80 bucks you can get a all in one water cooler  for cpu.
that should allow you to re test everything you have and get some better numbers.
it comes with a single fan/radiator connected to a cpu heat sink.
then just blow an extra fan on the back of the radiator to help cool it faster.

that's where i would start...getting that cpu under control...you can still get pretty good numbers on air for video....im u there on air, so i know it's possible....

i have one of thos all in one kits lol its stitting in my cupboard..... i was goin to use it before i got my promega lol it was not so great. granted i only had the stock fan the rad i might try put my 2 110CFM fans on it and see what the results are this weekend.


or my 200+ vfm server fan LOL that thing is crazy. i had an E2140 to 3.6GHZ and under load it was running at 44c at idle it was 42 :P

yes, please let us know....i really have no clue how this thing will fair with high end fans in a push pull. has to be better than air, right?
