hows it going Q?

aight, think i'm going to break down.  XP install went fine and was able to get a '05 & '03 run in beating my old scores by a little, but then things started to go flaky.  Got to the point the gpu wouldn't display (blue light no go), so I shut it down about 5 hours ago.  I just tried again and the blue light came on, but then it got hung up on post.

Rebooted, then got the long beep and no light.  Liquid temp is mid 40's F, so I took the vid card out and there were some droplets of water in/on the pci-e slot.   I loaded the slot with PJ, but was probably causing a short.  Not much at all, but water non the less.  I'm going to break down and see what's going on.......like I got time for that!  Had to do it anyway when Nate makes a special delivery

@ Halo, Fantastic man!  Keep collecting that precious metal!

i didn't want to say it, but that's what's wrong...water is probably on the board or card board some where...and right now it's giving you the.."we need help" call..... before something shorts out and you see sparks.

and i know the feeling...i keep breaking mine down every few days to check...and sometimes i find things...so i hit it with the compressor for a few minutes then put it back together and everything is fine.

also why i refined my prep work. i love how you guys have yours, but im a motherboard nanny..i have to be able to look at the board and make sure she is alright...lol... and to know that my prep work is holding up.

nate takes a day for prep...man!, i can't do that...as much as im switching things around right now....i would never get any benching in...lol

with all the condensation problems why dont you just put it in a big cardboard box and fill it with co2 to displace the moistur in the air

interesting concept there....
i did try it with a portable AC unit pumping cold air into a box...seem to help a bit with that as well..

Well, now what do I do?  I benched with just the cpu on the chiller and ran my 8800 gpu tonight.  Now the temps are at -24C and I gotta get some shuteye!  There is no way I'm warming this up!!  What do I do?  Turn it off and just leave it?  keep the computer going all night idle?

shut it down.

worse case...the water will be dry by tomorrow.
or just use a blower and blow the water out.

you'll be alright....even add a paper towel or two to be safe....
