Q56_Monster
Thanks John. I said I'd probably never beat K|ngp|n again, but I managed to squeak by him in the single card 295 vantage rank...#3 now.

Brings a tear to my eye to get bumped... but makes me proud its one of us.
Congrats on the 47K! (and under 3.7GHz?! That chip is a beast!)
Gonna start calling you you Q56_Ambient, until you rectify your cooling situation! Then I am sure 48K's and beyond are in your future.
Yea, I know...I felt the same way when Kentsfield was handily smashed by Yorkfield. Then the Yorkie guys were left drooling over i7. On thing for sure, technology never stops, even in a bad economy.
John, It may be too early to tell, but your initial intuition may pan out on whether or not we are losing GPU points when benching with the 980x. I think for the pros, benching the 980 @5.5Ghz will push GPU's no matter what. But for us "enthusiasts", benching the 980 at close to the Bloomfield Blck/frequencies, you might be on to something.
My 980x single card GPU = 26k, Bloomfield=26.6k. 980@4.7, 960@4.78Ghz. GPU clocks w/ 980=825/1260. GPU clocks w/ 960=845/1280. The question is once I can get my GPU clocks back up to 845/1280, will it add another 600 gpu points? I hope so, and I hope it would add a lot more being a six core proc.
Time will tell...but, then again, by then we will all have Fermi, and no one will care about our beloved GTX 295's!
