Fair point. And I suppose I could always step up if needed.

Mhm and I could have a way easier time buying it.. Although.... I'll still probably go with the 762, simply to have the extra slots/features. And because I wouldn't have to pay for it.

Ok, i finally found the info i needed. Motherboard mounting holes are exactly .156" in diameter, or 5/32". That means any screw smaller than that in diameter should fit fine. I can now order 6-32 screws and standoffs confidently b/c their diameter is .138". Woohoo!

Strike what i said about 3dmark06 & the 980x....it pretty much owns...

To give you an idea, I saw 7fps on cpu test #2...crazy.

u ntill you get to those single core test that rely on more mhz than cores.

Even then its beating the 975's. With the 32nm fab, its just better in every which way over Bloomfield. There getting well under 7s SuperPi times with it, which for a 6 core, is amazing.

I'm really surprised that it overclocks better than Bloomfield. I figured having to OC 6 cores would hurt, but I guess not. I guess the next test comes when the release 6 cores with locked multi's.

beating an e8600 at super pi..nope (not 32m)
3dmark01....nope.

at least not yet anyways.

chip works extremely well with ati...hope this fairs for fermi as well.
