Rudster..Oh yea, I remember you got that card from gunslinger..duhh  Memory is going.

@John & awalleye, nevermind, after hours of trying to get the board back, it finally came back to life.  I can't even tell you what happened, I tried so many things, but it's working fine now.  It may have been something with the hard drives.  None of the HDD's would boot (3 of them with their own OS's).  Post 86, then bsod PFN, checkdisk wanting to run, etc.  long night.

One thing I noticed during the process...my OC on the 980x for the vantage runs was on "auto" for the uncore multiplier and set to a 2:8 mem divider.  That means I was running memory at 1176Mghz, and who knows what setting it was picking for the uncore multi.  I'll be fine tuning tonight.  Good thing is the 980's OC of 4.693Ghz is completely stable at ambient room temps, even with the poor uncore and mem divider settings...yea.

@ rudster I havent really tried the new one from the amd site but the 10.3 beta were the best drivers ive tested. Ive gotta tune in my cpu again and try and get one more vantage run in before I put this chiller in the garage

oh, BTW, I checked with Massman and he said HWbot is and has been awarding points/cups for ES 980's as well as retail chips.  So, I wonder why the "pros" haven't jumped all over ES chips months ago to better their scores??

You can get points with ES chips, but only after the release. So anybody with a 980X ES, would have to resubmit\re-run there hardware. Although, you will see scores with pre release hardware in the world records page.

You also need to run some 3dmark06 with that 980X, Gunslinger just took the x2 GPU WR with x2 Lightnings and a 980X at 5.7ghz . 06 is a lot more CPU dependent on the final score, but it really loves ATI cards over Nvidia's.

EDIT:

Were in 39th by 8 points, I think my new 5870 score finally put us in the lead that I submitted a couple hours ago.

Well if I had more money for multiple GPU's\etc, I could do better. I can only afford to run one setup though. Once I get my license and a job (Im 16) I'll probably pickup some lower end GPU's and get Nateman or someone else to voltmod them.

I would also like to get a P5NB and a Cele and do a CPU-Z WR run.

Single card 295.  Nice and Easy...look at the physx .  Either the 980 or the new bios is doing wonders with physx-on
