And John, this is for you:

Dropping these foam pieces in and out is so much easier then the eraser.  You still use the eraser, but you use it  just around the cpu socket.

and this is together:

once the block is yanked out, you can just peel out the small section of eraser and keep using the foam.

that is the very reason why i was holding on the block. that part right there was killing me. it meant i had to redo almost the whole thing.
talking about the eraser getting stuck on the block. but my new method is far better...got a new thing for the top of the cpu metal bracket.

i am thinking if you take a little vaseline ( a LITTLE) and just kinda "coat" the layers of foam, or maybe some of the eraser, things will come apart much easier.  That eraser tends to have a chemical reaction to copper that it stains it black.  once you go crazy with the block.

it will come off easy enough.  I have lots of practice with it.

If you have it coated with PJ then if you put a blowdryer to it for a shot time it will come off very easily. If the PJ is cold it tends to be a little more difficult to pull the rubber insulators off.

I dont use vaseline anymore.  Just the foam inserts and the eraser.  So much easier and I got my installation "signed off" & approved.
