Yea got me a silver with same exact settings that had me fourth place. I cant seem to get past another 03 run for the life of me though. Yea your chips clock great. I cant run mine past a 221bclk. I can do superpi runs at 223 but no vantage

@ john and reggie What ati cards do you have? Can you adjust the voltage?

xfx 5850 xxx I had to flash the bios to the asus bios so that I could. The clocks xfx gave me only let me oc to 800 core??? If you dont have a block for the card I wouldnt get carried away though. Make sure you use gpuz to monitor the temps of all the sensors the vddc phase temps are out of control if your block isnt making good contact.

The silver cup I got was with 1.425 vcore

Well I flashed to asus bios but the voltages showed that max was still 1.162 or something like that, but that was a 5870 xfx of which (non reference fan version)  I am returning. I am wondering if besides making a lighter heat-sync if they are also using cheaper non software adjustable vregs like nvidia did on the 295 co-ops, amd others. Or if most 5870 are locked at a max voltage. I did not mind the non reference design since I have very good air flow and cpu is water cooled.

Yea afterburner has a whole thread dedicated to that let me see if I can find it, one last thing did you try asus smart docor?

Yes, and could only adjust down from default 1.16 or what ever it is.

So that makes me think that yes they starting to cut corners, like non adjustable voltage.

could be...because even if i add voltage...it seems to do worse...ill have to seriously check that out in a bit.

humm, im running a test at 1050/1300 test 2 gpu vantage....

edit: and the max voltage was 1.350 not 1.375..my mistake.

May be in anticipation of price wars after fermie release. Speculation of course.
