open task manager and watch the the cores...see if they are really being used.
also load up real temp i7 turbo to see if your clocks are changing like they are suppose to.

I somehow corrupted my lga775 XP install updating to SP3. ??  Oh well, I wanted to run the x58 board tonight anyway. 

system restore would have fixed you right up...:)

You got that score in win7?  nice!  You have some incredible mem clocks for your 295's.  If I had those mem clocks...

Its like the only test that takes advantage of gpu clocks is Vantage.  The other 3d Mark tests are more CPU heavy.  So unless you overclock the hell out of your CPU, & break out the dice pot, its hard to get up there in the rankings.

Wow great job Q! Nate, why are those clocks incredible? In XP I can run 1296mhz memory, never tried higher than 1276 in Vista though. Btw, ordering windws 7 this weekend. I won't run it until I get a SSD though.

Win 7 + SSD = Supreme Happiness.  I have intel SSD's in my note book, and I can't believe what a difference ssd makes in the overall feel of windows.....everything is instantaneous.

Yes, win 7.  I tried XP last night also, and although it gives about 1,000 more CPU points, it doesn't run sli near as well as Win 7.  My single card scores are about 600 points lower in XP.  Go Figure.

my craptastic 295 does not like anything higher then 1200 mem.  even single card.  it is holding back EVERYTHING.  i can bench 800/1200, and thats it. 

I have a crazy idea overclocking an ssd? Would that work, I mean it's like ram so if someone provided a tool to do it that could be an entirely new category of benching.

That's always the risk when you RMA.  When my one card wouldn't "boot", I ended up going through three different cards before settling on the third card they gave me (it happens to be my best card now, lol).  But it took a lot of waiting and sending back and forth until I was satisfied.  But again, that was when they had stock of the dual pcb 295's.
