so would say, a pentium d 915 at 4.7 ghz do any good? or does it need freqency on newer s775 chips?

pretty sure its pure speed does not take advantage of multicore processors at all just speed. So a pentium d at 4.7 would do much better than a quad core at 3.3. I think, I would just leave that one alone if I was you.

Thanks man!  Got it at 4.788Ghz on my i7 960.  It really pushes the cards much better than my 920, however in Vantage, it's about equal.  920 @ 4.54 = 960 @ 4.79.  Funny about that.....kinda what we all saw with the 975 extreme.
