I am actually downloading all the benchmarks... and I am going to put them on a DVD, so I don't have to DL them again, and again, and again!

is there a "buy all" codes for all of the benchmarks?

I am pretty sure that you won't get the XP install to work on your SATA drive without slipstreaming the SATA drivers to the XP install.  Either that, or put the SATA drivers on a floppy disk (if you still have a floppy drive somewhere).  I didn't have a floppy drive and couldn't install XP on my 780i due to SATA drivers.  I never did the slipstream method and therefore never got XP to work on my 780i.  I am pretty sure your 790i will be similar.

But right now, I doubt the lack of SATA driver is keeping you from at least starting the install.  You should at least get to the drive selection part of the install before the lack of SATA driver becomes an issue.

Something else, something else.

I would definately research slipstreaming and then slipstream a disk with all your chipset drivers including SATA driver and SP2.  You will want those items anyways and they just may solve your current issue too.

Nice advice Ty_ger...I think Nate's gonna add some bot points now because of your help.  I so gotta do that slipstreaming also.  Thanks again!

Cant seem to get stable past 221 blk. Temps are not a problem right now unless its my vregs and mosfetts holding me back so is there any way to measure those temps through windows? Everything else is water cooled. My board is a asus p6t deluxe v2 if anyone is familar with it. I seem to go unstable anytime my qpi link goes over 4000mhz. Any quick suggestions what might help that. If someone will tell me how to get one of those cool bios caps then I will post all ov my settings.

I didn't end up going to bed until after 6.  daughter wouldn't sleep, and although they both start with a D, daughter and Dice do not mix.  i lost a 3dmark06 run from not watching the temps, plus I got a little too used to having the CPU temps with the ECP with the X58.   I will install a thermal probe in a few and see what my dice block really does.

I honestly completely forgot how to overclock my 790i
