so after an evening full of disaster, I can easily say that I can bring a mobo back from the dead... twice.

back to square one.  Off to find some kneadable eraser!

That stinks...but yea, it is fun to save some equipment you think you destroyed.  Sort of a reverse adrenaline rush.  What are you doing with that rubber stuff on the vid card?  I was thinking...wouldn't that make the gpu hotter?

heh... remember you were asking about those 'insane clocks'?

Well I'm thinking of selling my RAM and CPU cooler, to get some DDR3 2000Mhz and liquid... Mhm tempting..

No, it won't break.  The colder you go, the better the performance.  That's what its "ALL ABOUT"...getting it colder.  You can tweak all you want, but eventually you have to get it colder.  Hang out here and learn.

Oh, you had that set-up on your single card vantage run?  That mem clock was insane...it was 1290 right?  I got up to 1275 and physx scores are crazy high (when it doesn't bomb out)

Hahaha on my old 285 I could hit 1485 on the memory. With my 295 I max at 1296.. Just under 1300..

probably not as good as shock on timings, but i just ran this real quick to see what i could get...
382 mhz over clock ain't to shabby as some may put it....

Why OC ram?  I mean more than what it's rated at...like 1866 for the reapers.  Doesn't really give any advantage in benches...

the more flexible the ram, the more options you have. higher rated ram has more potential to run at specs when doing super high cpu over clocks...because then...your far closer to spec than you would be with benching 1066 or 1333 ram. (speculation of course)

but...you would have to bench ram to really know for yourself.....but from what i have seen...it makes a difference., just depends on what your benching for.

right now...im only testing it's limits...my ocz blade wouldn't go above 2150 without crashing (rated@2000)
this ram can go as high as 2200mhz...lower clocked and higher over clock...works for me!!
