Link gives an "item not found" page. If this is the ram i am thinking of though, Newegg had them for a little bit for really cheap, but by the time i won my i7, they were out of stock, then discontinued...

Wow, talk about yanking something quick. I was just there when I pulled the link. Yes it was the same that Newegg had. I was one of the ones who was able to get it for $159. Good stuff. I've hit 2.4ghz with it.

i was trying to get that same ram from frys, but they said it's discontinued. i was going to use it as back up ram. i ended up getting the patriot 1600 mhz

That sucks. Is it still on the website? When i talked to a guy on the phone from Tiger, he said they match the website if instore pickup is available. It was, just not at my local store, so maybe i lucked out and they didn't dig very deep. I like Tiger better anyways. I also consider myself very lucky to live in a place where there is a Tiger Direct, Frys, and Micro Center, all within 20min of my house.

wonder just who he called, because i was in the store and they ran a check against all the frys and not one had it. then they cam back the next day and said it was discontinued. so im going to have to say...he looked it up on their site and that's about it. seen it still listed and gave it to you for the quote price. nice!..but yeah, frys isn't selling that ram anymore...

And what has that realy got to do with your memory being expensive? Cheap memory can give same results.

just sayin man..  65K is quite the cpu score ;)

That stinks...but yea, it is fun to save some equipment you think you destroyed.  Sort of a reverse adrenaline rush.  What are you doing with that rubber stuff on the vid card?  I was thinking...wouldn't that make the gpu hotter?
