what strikes me as odd, is the minute CPU temps hit 50°C computer locks up.  seems to always do that.

is that on all four cores or just the main cpu temp?
you should be able to go up to 85 on all four cores and still complete a run...at lets say.....4.3/4.4/4.5/4.6...if your not cpu limited.

Thanks for all the congrats guys. And now that you all know i won an i7, i have a question for you guys. So of course, i plan on getting the Classy or vanilla x58 sli -a1. (Hoping funds will allow me to get the Classy of course). I have 100 EVGA bucks, so that is my main reason for getting an EVGA board, besides the fact that EVGA is amazing.

Anyways, i need ram suggestions. This is going to be a 24/7 rig, so 6gb is a must. But i also plan to bench it a lot, on air, and hopefully every once in a while on DICE. Also, i want to keep the ram price under $200, no exceptions. So, any suggestions?
