thanks!
im still kind of on the fence...im like ...oooooh, now i have 2 fully functioning classified setups. with memory and cpu for each.

is yours still on schedule?

Yep, Tuesday. Too bad on Friday ill be leaving for two weeks, so Ill only have a couple of days to play with it before saying goodbye

You can really go wild with the voltage on DDR2, it isnt linked to the CPU the way it is on the X58, so dont be afraid to bump the voltage a little to get 1200mhz

@ Shaka

Google is your friend. You can try calling your local hardware supply stores too before you order online.

This was all I could muster up last night with out side temps at 15F.  Being that it was so cold, I was able to get the GPU's up to 855 core/ 1235 mem, but as you can see it didn't produce any greater result than my previous best @ 845/1225.  Precision reported gpu temps of 6C & 7C! (That part I liked).  This run was actually two points higher in gpu than my best P46,635 score, but physx didn't quite kick in like I hoped!  Probably because of the different gpu clocks used.

So, I'm pretty sure that at this point I'm CPU bottlenecked at 217 blck.  And with my chip, I can't get any positive results going any higher than 217blck.  I got up to 220, but that produced the worst run of the night, a sub P44k result.

Either I roll the dice and invest in another 920, or just hang it up and wait for hexicore.

2 things....
you chip may be fine if you get it under 0 on all four cores..(someone told me)
or try to find a 38 batch chip...what's out now are 39 batch chips.

nice to see ya churning out those 46k's!

Man Q, looks like you certainly are tearing it up.  My motherboard spend this weekend chill being in the trunk.  When I was away I took it with me to re-prep.  Also lapped my processor.  I have a good feeling my temps are going to be considerably better.  The CPU was so horribly misshaped.

So tell me what you got going on over there?  Did you put your radiator outside?  The Humidity in my room right now says "Lo" instead of a percent.  I could phase change, and not even have to prep the mobo for sub zero temps

I wouldnt advise running phase without prep.. just sounds like a recipe for disaster even with such low humidity

Hey nate. You and awalleye need to egt it going with hwbot. Looks like I done passed you guys again and I really didn't do much. Course I'm in the process of installing XP64 so we'll see what happens with alot of these old benches.

I have what I call, the "chamber"......an inner door and an outer door.  The outer door is open allowing the cold outside air in, but the inner door is closed.  I put the computer in the middle and  have a 25' dvi cable and a wireless keyboard mouse, so I can sit at my desk while the computer freezes.  I've been doing the outside thing for the past two winters also, but I was all air cooling then.

I also have a wireless thermometer sitting on top of my case that shows about 8F higher than the actual outside temp.  So last night was 15F, but my reading at the computer was 22F.  Because it's totally protected from the elements, except the cold air, I'm not getting the most benefit I could from the cold.  I imagine that if I really moved the system fully outside, I'd get some better temps, but I'm not willing to do that....just yet!

Of course this method will only work for the next month or two.  After that I plan to convert this AC unit sitting behind me into a chiller...that's if I'm not too busy with work.
