Now i see what you mean about scaling. These cards do not scale what so ever going from 2 to 3. Dizamn!!!

Didn't know you had already bought a third card, I thought you already knew they scaled terribly.

I found out Months ago when I originally tried 3-Way and 4-Way SLI with an additional two more KPE's after testing with the first two I bought!......Hardly much improvement at All and sometimes even a Loss running Benchmarks!

There are only a Few Tests I ran that show any reason (Fire Strike Extreme, and perhaps Mark 11 Extreme and Vantage Extreme presets) for using more than two cards in SLI, and I Now am thinking even with more than two GTX 980's (??) there will still be the same problem with scaling.

It even may have been better using two GTX TITAN Z's in Quad SLI, But even I am Not going to take a chance spending almost $7K for two Hydro Copper Z's Just to Find Out! LOL!

So, spend the $7k. LoL.

Out of curiosity, and only that, what would happen if you installed 4 gpu cards? I know SLI would not work, but, could the Dual gpu be used for Folding, Mining, and such? I don't know what I thought about that, but it am curious if a 590/690 could take advantage of the 8 gpu cores in total.

I see no reason why you could not do that. Just don't SLI them, disable multi GPU for each card, have them all work as as individual GPU'S. Just like having say 6 9800 GT's or something.

Yeah, You're about right on the C-Rations!

I enlisted in the Navy instead of being Drafted in the Army a month after I graduated from High School in 1963 for four years and got out in October of 1967 (Just about the time when the VN War was really Heating up!).

I knew you were an old dude, but damn.. I keep forgetting how old you are.

As requested, I will have a block for the X99 Classy.

EDIT:
The FTW & CLASSY have different mounting holes so each needs their own VREG blocks.  The chipsets ARE compatible
Hopefully the FTW Vreg & Micro VREG will be compatible with the FTW... so lets see.

Yeah, you will get to his age provided I am wrong, and your habits of creating machines building machines in your basement doesn't turn into Skynet and kill us all.  Even if it does though, we got some good waterblocks out of it  :)

Only question is whether to chill them in parallel or series?
