exactly..i have no clue except to think that the os starts acting strange with a slight change...like the memory settings for all the devices are now some how different or something....very strange indeed.

I do tend to do that, but as far as back to basics, I go back to the "johnkss basics 800/1200 standard"  and try to work my way back up.  It really is weird that sometimes lower gives you decent results.  Sometimes luck plays such a role.  I was hitting 46K's all day that day.  Once I turned in for the night, the computer hasn't done it again.  I guess once you got a killer run going... DONT GO TO SLEEP.

ha!  absolutely.  Also, you ever notice the more intensely you stare at your vantage run... the more prone to crash it is?  Sometimes I can walk away, and the Vantage run will complete.  If I stare... it almost ensures failure

Too funny!  The only times I exhibit "ESP" is when I look at the screen and say in my head "It's going to crash"....and then it immediately does!  I feel like Carrie at the HS dance with uncontrollable powers

That's exactly how I always feel! Or if I walk away, it will definitely crash.

bench...i already played it all the way through.

im scared to play it all the way though.  I am just browsing the forums (at stock clocks waiting for the chiller to pull down)  then I will probably bench.  I just re-wired the entire computer.  I wired all the fans, hard drives, pump, and the second video card to the secondary power supply.  Now the 1200 is for the Mobo, and 295 is slot 1. 

oh yea.. and i bought an SSD.  everything boots so much quicker!  you dbl click on something... and it loads instantly.  Dunno how much it will help as far as benching goes, (probably nothing) but its still cool. 

Oh yea... how is the game?  I am afraid of playing it all the way through too quickly!
