I noticed that on my new GTX1050Ti there is an EVGA sticker over one of the screws which attaches the cooler to the GPU.  It looks like a tamper evidence sticker.  Currently it is split anyway for whatever reason.
 
Question:  are we no longer permitted to remove the cooler to apply new TIM and still maintain warranty?  Please advise.
 

This sticker is here to notify the RMA department that the card has been opened (so we can make sure to fully test the card).
 
This will not affect your warranty in any way, as we still allow you to exchange the cooler if you would like

The sticker is not there to help the customers. Guy don't be so gullible!
You may as well be asking EVGA staff or bumboys who is the best GPU manufacture in the world! lol

 The litlle sticker only serves to give EVGA legal standing.
EVGA reveres the right (a detached, removed, ripped or wet sticker) to legally use this under commerce law to deny warranty if they so choose (for whatever reason that may be) specially if it is damaged.
Also it does not legally have to state "warranty could be void upon removal" (though this is depending on your countries commerce law's)
 
This little sticker lets EVGA staff know if you have been inside the card. And good luck proving that it was not you - if it really was not!

Always refer to commerce commission in your country regarding warranty or a lawyer or someone who is familiar with commerce statute.
 
That sticker means a lot and says a lot & is not attached to better serve the customer!
Though I have no doubt evga will deny this - & try to say its placed there to help the customers, which is hilariously condescending to say the least!

I'm not quite sure where you got this idea, but this is not a "Warranty VOID if Removed" sticker, nor is it treated as such.  We've stated in multiple places that customers are free to remove heatsinks (even change them to third party heatsinks, such as waterblocks), as well as replacing thermal paste, without voiding their warranty. 
 
I also wouldn't necessarily say that this sticker is there to "help" customers, but neither is it there to harm customers.  As we've stated elsewhere, this sticker is there to help our RMA team know if a customer has opened up the graphics card, so we can make sure that we do a more thorough inspection of the card and make sure thermal pads, thermal paste, and other parts of the card are in good condition before determining if the card is in good enough condition to recertify and send out as RMA replacements or potentially sell as a -RX card.  Is it possible that damage could be discovered during such an inspection?  Of course, but it also ensures higher quality replacement cards are sent to our customers.  In that respect, it "helps" customers.
 
We've been consistent about the purpose of this sticker, and there have been many threads about this same question.  I can understand some skepticism from consumers, but I would also point out that this sticker clearly does not match the "Warranty VOID if Removed" stickers on our power supplies, which would actually void your warranty if removed or tampered with on your power supply.
 
Frankly, it doesn't matter where you purchased your GPU, since we do not void warranties on the basis of removal or tampering with the graphics card sticker shown in the OP, and this is our global policy.

For anyone who would feel the sticker would make EVGA void a warranty just read the forums. Many people have replaced a cooler and still had an RMA processed without issue. Just make sure if you are replacing a cooler you make sure you are doing it correctly like you would when installing a CPU cooler.
