I have been liaising with EK regarding a solution for 1080 Classified waterblock support.
Grega from EK has inspected diagram of 1080 Classified PCB and said that on a visual inspection there is only one resistor that may be a problem (in making the 780TI Classified block fit 1080 Classified).
 
Grega (EK) has asked me to provide measurements (since EK has no hardware to take measurements from).
I have already emailed technical support with this; but never received a reply.  So I bring it to these forums in hope of an answer.
 
I know this would help other customers enormously too if we got a solution for this!
   When this is resolved I will share all information comprehensively on here, on techpowerup.com (nvidia section) and also at overclock.net (nvidia section).
 

EVGA MODERATOR - the resistor circled in red is the only *potential* compatibility problem for fitting 780TI Classified block to the 1080 Classified.
 
Can you please provide measurements for PCB (and measurements of location of this resistor on PCB) here, or email them to:nick.peyton@btinternet.com so I can continue discussions with EK on a solution / possible mod.

Thank you; I hope can see the potential for this if the measurments come back, EK check them and they fit :-)
 
You will suddenly have thousands of happy Classified customers :-)
 
Moreover it may even be as simple as EK releasing an "update pack" for the 780TI Classified block (for 1080 classified fitting) which could be as little as a bag of longer screws or correctly sized thermal pads.
 
I really hope EVGA take this onboard and are able to provide technical diagrams / measurements that EK can have their relevant department check :-)
 
There are indeed posts/pictures on this forum where other owners have indeed made it *fit*... but if I am going to do it (and other customers are too) we would rather it done safely with the help of EK instructions.

Fits no problem on my 1080 classifieds and others as well! The pads and screws are correct.
