On the Nvidia reddit there's maybe 4 visible threads about it if you sort by new. 2 videos so far that I know of. Hey, I only care because I don't want my rig blowing up because I decided to go with EVGA for their customer service...but hey call me paranoid.

Yes I see, I was only looking for Cards that have blown up and really only found 3 One MSI and Two EVGA. But not 8 Cards.
No need to be paranoid thing are working fine now. No real need to keep Beating a Dead Horse is all.

More importantly, I'd like to know how many had issues after thermal mods/BIOS update applied and or are brand new cards with the mods already applied.

Cause if cards are blowing up bacause of known issues then that's one thing; if its still blowing up after the mods/updates that's another. No one's provided satisfactory answers on that so far.
The few I've seen pop up on reddit appear to be pre-mod models based on the pictures provided.  Many more don't mention what version of the card they have. Like that twtich one, we only now its a 1070.

here's another video.

I agree we don't know if it's post pads or bios. But to have members here insinuate it's being done for publicity... that seems silly. The resale value of these cards are affected, and public trust is lost. I've been buying evga since my 8800gtx...

That youtube is from Nov 1, i believe it was one of the early reports.  With the now famous picture of the blown out VRM

If you think about this it is almost like a Ploy that AMD would do, do you remember the video of the guy going nuts on the ground smashing a NVIDIA Graphics Card with a Sludge Hammer.
I am NOT saying that AMD or any other Graphics Card Company is posting or that they are behind any of the issues we are seeing. That is Not What I am Saying at all.

Any Type of Electronic Device can Fail that is just the way it is.
So far I have not see any Posting or Photos or Videos of a Computer That has Actually Blown Up, Graphics Cards Short Circuiting Yes.
Some People just want there 15 Minutes of Fame.

Put in some C4 then you will really see something Blowing Up.
Myself I would go with 3 wraps of Det Cord (Detonating cord) and have at it.
