For the moment, nothing to do with the tomshardware test and 2 people happy about the support service...

thread : " i have a problem with my card "

The 1000 series experienced design / construction problems, even EVGA recognized it.
They deal with the problem and try to fix their mistakes which is a good thing.

Now, if you want to close your eyes, persuade yourself that the cards are perfect and have no flaws, that's fine.
But already, there is no probe at the location of the defect so say "My card only heats up to 60 ° C" is a nonsense.
The issue is rather the length of life of the GPU  (temperatures are near top of acceptable values. More than others brands).

I do not want to criticize EVGA or anything else.
I'm neither a fanboy nor a troll.
After-sales service, for my part, seems to live up to its reputation.

If you want to wait 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, or maybe more without updating to see if your card dies, this is your problem, but avoids bubbling others ...

Really selfish of you imo

please do elaborate on this as i don't see how am i selfish.

look at the 10 series sub-forum FRONT page. 80% of the threads are about the thermal issues.

Also, there's an "i don't have a problem with my card" thread. is the op in that thread selfish as well?

i created this one to try to clean up un-necessary threads so that we can discuss other topics such as overclocking, performance, etc.

Also, i posted my exact feelings in regards to this situation from the POINT OF VIEW OF ME AS A CUSTOMER.

so how am i being selfish?

Well... I would be careful to say that individuals unique issues are "un-necessary". Every customer with an issue has a *right* to provide info on their issue in a constructive manner I imagine... Unless EVGA forums rules change and say otherwise, this is where people have to post their unique or similar issues for now.

It does make you seem selfish to minimize other user issues in this regard. Yep, it's your opinion if I understand correct, but its kinda messed up to word it that way.

It's really not a customer responsibility to clean-up threads or organize them better or restrict themselves from voicing their personal testimony... Its EVGA mods job to create a new sub-thread and 'direct' users to post their single threads there.

this is the last post i'll make in regards to this, as i don't want this thread to be derailed.

"Every customer with an issue has a *right* to provide info on their issue in a constructive manner I imagine..."

exactly, i did this in the first post. Was i not constructive enough?

"It does make you seem selfish to minimize other user issues in this regard. Yep, it's your opinion if I understand correct, but its kinda messed up to word it that way."

how am i minimizing other user's issues? i'm merely COLLECTING them in here as exactly the same way the other thread is. The only difference is that one thread is praising EVGA and the other one is criticizing EVGA. Again, this is a forum where users posts their opinions. I posted mine.
So again, how does it make me be selfish? just because i do not agree with the pro-EVGA crowd? by the way, i gave EVGA credit where it's due, their service. But i also criticized them where they felt short.

The simple use of the quotation marks makes you already minimize the issues.
The way you emphasized it too.
"" Well, since there's one for "i don't have a problem with my card" ""
What do you think is more important consumer based? people having issues with their $500 $700 cards or  the stylish of the forum thread?
Would you care about the forum thread looking if you would have wasted $500 - $800 on a card that blew up like that one on a previous post?

Also " The only difference is that one thread is praising EVGA and the other one is criticizing EVGA " ???
^^ WRONG it's a constructive criticism. It's wrong to ship a GPU that cost half grand and more with factory and QA issues and customers are a little bit let down by it and therefore understandably complaining or giving their points of view. They are on their total right to complain but not only that. Some of the " critics" that you call are actually to improve EVGA as a company.
Let me tell you my thoughts :

1 I wen't EVGA for their quality products  and warranty :  Not sure about what's the quality of a card with thermal pads missing or not making contact. Is like selling you a car with an engine with a blown head gasket
2 The EVGA cards value will drop, specially if you try to resell it: Try to resell your EVGA card on ebay now. Pretty sure that after all this " cards catching fire " reddit, twitch, youtube and internet talking the price that you will have to sell it for will DROP.

ummmmmmm, that's exactly what i wanted to communicate. Although i decided to take my chances with the new card i received. Nowhere in my post does it state that EVGA is on the right regarding this FIASCO. In fact i believe they should have recalled all cards instead of doing patch work. Advanced RMA did it for me.

^ YES! exactly my thoughts. and you can search my post history to validate this claim.

Look, i'm furious that my $650 video card (which is way overkill for the games i play) came to me with questionable QC from the manufacturer. I just wanted to see how many more people felt the same way.
Maybe the fact that we are communicating on written sentences rather than verbally might have had different reactions. But i'm upset as you are at the moment.
Cleaning the threads? i was being sarcastic since there's a PRO-EVGA crowd with another similar thread as this, but for people that do not have any issues. i felt that was a blatant BIASED thread, just because like you stated: "Would you care about the forum thread looking if you would have wasted $500 - $800 on a card that blew up like that one on a previous post?" hell yeah i do care, i gotta bend backwards to earn my money.

If you would use the forum tools to quote previous comments correctly, your posts would be less confusing. I had to keep scrolling back up the page to see if you were making a statement of your own, or quoting someone else's earlier comment.
