Hi,
I apologize in advance if I know very little about computers and video cards but I was hoping someone with more experience could help me. I am running a system with
I7-6700K CPU,
Z170 LGA1151 mobo MSI Z170A PC Mate
Ddr4 VIPER 16gb RAM
Win 10 64 bits
I don't remember my PSU :(
So, a Week ago I got a GTX 1060 (Gygabite brand) and worked great on my computer and Oculus experience was smooth and amazing. I decided to shell the extra $100 to be safe for a couple of years with the new games coming out so I replaced that video card for a EVGA GTX 1070 FTW. I installed it and I thought it was performing ok untill I opened the Oculus next day. Now ,that very same day oculus released a new firmware for it's device so it updated automatically.
I started the Oculus and right away felt nauseous. The interface feels like it's jittering (like ever so sligtly shaking) it is not much but enough to notice. Then I started some games and noticed that when I move the camera around with my mouse the 3d object stutters. Not much but continuously and it does not feel smooth during motion and makes me nauseated.
I noticed the same thing when the Oculus screen transitions between scenes or apps. The screen fades out and then in (which is normal) but when it fades it is not smooth but rather choppy.
Outside of the oculus my Firefox seems to be slower and if I open a few tabs with flash videos it gets very slow. I could open many tabs before with my GTX 750 Ti.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. Used DDU to uninstall drivers. Avoided Geforge Experience and 3D monitor interface.
I tried every driver out there from this summer to today (11/19/16).
From 368.39 to 375.95
Nothing helps.
I downloaded the XOC software to slightly overclock the card and got a blue screen saying that the video interface had problems and windows was restarting. After that still no improvement.
I am thinking of getting either another brand or going back to the 1060 that I know it worked. I wish I could fix the problem though any of you guys experienced something similar?
Thank you for your time and help.
