Hey guys. I'm looking to upgrade my GPU from the GTX Titan to something new. Maybe the 1080.
But, i see so many card series etc. I assume that the 1080 is the top of the line card today?
I want to be able to play the newest games at max settings at 1440p. At 60 fps or higher.

My CPU is: Intel Core i7 4770K
Motherboard:  141-HW-E877
Ram: 32 gigs.

Until EVGA sorts out the VRM cooling fiasco, you are better off waiting or getting a 1080 from another brand.

Are you joking? Have you been living under a rock? The entire 10xx lineup from EVGA is a mess. Get yourself Zotac, Gigabyte, ASUS Strix or MSI.

I'm using a 1440p monitor with my similar performance as you - 980ti. I'm comfortably playing BF1, csgo & overwatch. Personally I would skip the current line up of 1080's and wait for the next ti variant.

Not everyone follows the latest trends.

Definitely do not do that. MSI, I hear mixed reviews, they can give you the run around. Gigabyte - stay away. Asus - definitely stay away and don't even touch them with a 10ft pole. Zotac - don't have any comment, not enough info on them.

The 1080 is definitely not the best card out there.

I purchased my cards in July and have not had any issues with them. I have ordered the thermal pad kits just as a precaution but any cards you purchase now will most likely have these "fixes" in place. You will also get great customer service so I personally would not have any reservations from buying a 1080 today

That is completely biased and untrue. I've built several rigs for family members with ASUS/MSi cards, they work without any issue, there might be a defective card from time to time (as there is with every single brand), but nothing as stupid as not having VRM cooling or vRAM pads that make no contact as seen with EVGA's 10-series custom line up.

The new GTX Titan X is currently the best card and in your upgrade path since you all ready have a GTX Titan. The GTX 1080Ti, which will basically be the Titan X at a much lower cost... Is expected to be out somewhere around January/February next year.

This is currently the fastest card you can buy right now:
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/10series/titan-x-pascal

You will want the Pascal version, the Maxwell Titan X isn't as fast.

You could also find another one of your cards on eBay and run SLI... Or move over to something like a GTX 980Ti if you want to avoid the GTX 10 series issues.

EVGA regarding10x cards have been caught red-handed. Two botched jobs in a row (VRM and VRAM) which appear to be arising from poor QC and cutting corners here and there. More so, instead of offering a full product recall and provide customers with brand new cards they only offer DIY on-the-go fix or refurbished amended cards if you don't to feel like doing it yourself, not to mention the fan noise increase due to the bios update and the delay in the pads delivery. You also have to consider the important decrease in value of EVGA cards in second hand market. Moreover, there is no guarantee that overclocking for evga cards, even FTW, will be better than the competition's.
