Yeah somebody dropped the ball but EVGA is rectifying the situation. Still haven't received my pad kit even though they show shipped on 11/2... Will give em a call Monday morning.

I opened up my case yesterday, there isn't much space between heat sink fins and the plate, isn't 1mm more appropriate there?
 
I'm talking about the "narrow" pad over the chokes.

I'm not convinced that the pad on the chokes is really needed. MSI has exposed chokes and gets great temps.

Pad on Memories and Chokes 1.5 even if is 1mm a 1.5 will squeeze to 1 and is better squeezed than a hot air gap

Pad on backplate 2mm
