Every electronic on the planet has a potential for failure or a component shorting out. Your card is fine.

Its not just "ftw" cards. Every single generation has shown failures and resistors giving out across all manufacturers. It happens.

You have a warranty for a reason. Of something were to happen, your warranty will take care of your card.

Exploding is only for top tier cards, some lower cards were mistakenly enabled to explode, bios and driver updates will disallow explosion options for lessor cards.
