AMD just can't seem to step foot in the highend $600+ market anymore until they get some major financial backing in R&D

be interesting to see how much bucks the RX 490 will retail for, previous HBM cards were rather expensive and there is no reason to believe that this one will be cheap if the specs are true

I wouldn't consider believing from sources such as videocardz.com. They were questioning why the GTX1080TI would have a 384 bus size yet they have a chart of their own, available on their website, that shows why  a video card like a GTX 1080TI would need such a bus size. They can't even provide a decent article without contradicting their own information.

professional Vega maybe dec/jan - similar to GP100 entrance

may 2017 is vega 10 - vega 20 by dec of 2017

so by the time you release vega
Volta professional chip will have been outed by Nvidia at GTC
and you would have consumer volta about 6 months from that with 2.5X the power of Pascal which vega will barely beat

AMD always behind the 8-ball

May 2017?  Good lord, that's almost a full year after the launch of the GTX 1080, which is what Vega will aim to compete with.  How sad.  This also gives Nvidia less of a reason to blow our minds with Volta, since AMD will just have started competing with Pascal.  I expect Nvidia to take even more market share.  The RX 480 was a monumental disaster, if you look at it from the perspective of taking back market share.  AMD lost market share the same quarter the RX 480 was released.  The RX 480's $200 price point was a sign of desperation, since I've never seen a card aimed at competing with a GTX '60 priced so low at launch.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: low-end cards don't control the marketplace.  $300-500 cards are what pull in the most revenue.
