Yes, evga did have an updated vbios available for the card at one time in the past. The vbios update is no longer being offered. The reason the vbios update is no longer being offered is because evga has deemed it not necessary after extensive testing of the card.

Am I missing something here? Both parts 03G-P4-6162-KR and 06G-P4-6163-KR have updated BIOS still listed in the stickied thread for the PWM Temperature issue, and as someone with a 06G-P4-6163-KR noticed a not insignificant boost to fan speed as a result of applying it. Don't have the exact figures in front of me, but happy to post the updated curve/percentages when I get home.

So i guess it's also applies to ACX 2.0? but not that much that my card needs thermal pads?

The German Tomshardware article that the image pkdpkd posted is from suggested thermal pads could be used to help, given the heat pipes on the SC version at least are conveniently placed (which unfortunately begs the question why they didn't have them already).
 
In other 1060 threads here, some people have also added their own - thinking of doing the same with the Australian summer about to hit just for peace of mind, if I can get my hands on something to test the current temperatures first.
